When Kapiti Cheese was born in the lower North Island 25 years ago, the New Zealand palate was changed forever. For the first time, we were given the chance to experience New Zealand original cheese, exquisitely aromatic, tasty, individualistic, handcrafted cheese that took us way beyond the familiar favourite block of yellow cheddar. These were cheeses with names which conjured up positive images of our heritage and our landscape; they were cheeses expertly made and passionately promoted. They were new, exciting and memorable.
Since that day back in 1984, Kapiti Cheese has become a staple in the repertoire of our best chefs and commonplace on tables in our homes. The range has expanded with contemporary packaging, but the heart of the cheese, the philosophy behind Kapiti and its commitment to excellence remain intact.
